“You are in the trees, the butterflies, the fish, the sir, the moon, the sun.
Wherever you go, you are there, waiting for yourself.”
Don Miguel Ruiz

I entitled this blog “My Trail Name is Dragonfly” because, after a particularly turbulent and emotional time in my life, I created a new path for myself, so to speak; forged a new trail.
Hiking, in realty, helped me to heal. Reading books about hiking the Appalachian Trail, I noted the use of trail names. Hikers usually bequeath trail names to others and do not name themselves; but because I was on a solitary journey of growth and transformation, I chose Dragonfly for myself. She had become my totem symbol, my Guide.
Dragonfly is a symbol of change and transformation, of rebirth and joy. She helps us to kick start necessary change and to see beyond the limits of our situation. She helps us reconnect with nature and the magic of life.
Her gifts and guidance helped me to find my way through a darkness. And she persists in guiding me as I continue to learn and grow on this spiritual journey.

The purpose of this blog is to share life lessons and stories of one soul’s journey to healing, to help others to know that they are not alone in their experiences, and to remind us that empathy, compassion and beauty can be found in unpredictable moments, in even the most unexpected places.
“Liberation is being aligned with your inner wisdom and spiritual truth.”
